Clarkston, MI
Clarkston, MI
I have lived in Clarkston for over a decade, and people always ask me, “ is Clarkston a good place to live?” Without hesitation, my answer is always the same. Clarkston is this unknown gem you want to tell everyone about while keeping it to yourself to preserve all the charm that this sleepy little town embodies.
Location
Although we are situated in Northern Oakland County and often feel like we are removed and “up north,” Clarkston is well connected to much of metro Detroit with a short commute. From Downtown Clarkston, you have a 20 min I-75 drive to Troy, 30 min to Royal Oak, 45 minutes to Novi, and 45 minutes to Detroit. With these reasonably short commutes, Clarkston allows you to escape the hustle and congestion of the city and provides you with a slower, more relaxed setting after work to come home to. It is the best of both worlds.
Things To Do
Although Clarkston is well known for its music and ski venues at Pine Knob, the community makes it special. If you want to be transported back in time where neighbors said hello to each other, Saturday mornings are spent at the farmers market, and everyone shows up on Friday nights for the High School sporting events, Clarkston is the place for you. Once you move to the area, you will also become quickly aware of community events such as the 4th of July parade, the Holiday Lights parade, the Taste of Clarkston, Art in the Park, or something as simple as pickleball tournaments in Clintonwood Park or a trip to the Clarkston Family Farm.
Restaurants
If eating out is your thing, Clarkston offers incredible restaurants such as Deer Lake Inn, The Fed, or any of the three Union Joints: The Woodshop, Honcho’s, and The Clarkston Union. After a nice dinner, you can always take a walk down by the stream in Depot Park or enjoy the new social district and have a cocktail while window shopping the many clothing stores or Essence on Main.
A Beautiful Place To Live
Whatever you are looking for in your new home, Clarkston is sure to offer it. Clarkston offers it all, whether you want the land to spread out in, waterfront to play on, or downtown to walk to. Clarkston is a beautiful slice of Northern Oakland County you never knew you were missing out on.

My wife and I couldn't have asked for a more knowledgeable and passionate real estate agent in helping us find our dream home! Every step of the way, you went above and beyond for us and always acted in our best interest.
You took us to many many homes, always with a smile on your face; eager and happy to see what the properties had to offer. You helped us research city ordinances/association rules when it came to us having a fence put in. We had been looking for a home in multiple cities and every place we went, you had exceptional knowledge of the neighborhoods, local hot spots, and all that the surrounding area had to offer.
Should we ever sell and buy in the future, you're our realtor and come highly recommended to our friends and family.
